This Is Lorelei Seattle Concert reviews
Jill ruled - too bad she wasn't the main act
Absolutely amazing was Jill Scott. She completely lives up to her live album for anyone who has it. Incredible performance, incredible band, incredible voice. If you want to see her in Miami, get there early as she started right at the start time on the ticket.
This Is Lorelei had a lot of promise when he first came out - doing some great arrangements again with a great band, channeling Sam Cooke. But I think he lost the crowd by making them wait so long after Jill wrapped. He ended up going so late and on a Monday night, people were walking out towards the end because of the long section of slow jams in the middle. This Is Lorelei totally couldn't read the audience apparently, or the not so subtle hints from the arena that the show was over. Eventually, the arena had the lights on and half the audience was gone while This Is Lorelei was still yapping.
So, stick around for the first half of This Is Lorelei and see Jill - totally worth it. If you won't be upset about missing Pretty Wings (which the performance was just okay), you can take off after the first half and you will have seen a better concert than if you stayed for the whole thing.
